The razor base plate can be installed in two different positions: for smooth shaving and aggressive shaving (blade gap: 0,5 and 0,85). If the side marked with a ring in the center (ringed side) is directed to the razor blade (towards the razor top cap), then the shaving will be more aggressive. And vice versa, the razor will shave more smoothly (more mild) if the ringed side is outward-directed towards the razor handle.

Solid bar base plates and razor top cap are almost entirely handmade and they are adjusted to each other individually. The entire length of the razor blade is completely covered with the razor top cap. To make the shaving even more comfortable, the edges of the razor combs are cut at an angle. Generally speaking, the razor base plate and top cap are harness-satin textured. However, all edges and corners that directly contact the skin while shaving are polished. The elements of the SMART HELIX “APOLLO” razor head have the special geometry and made the hair cutting dynamics in the process of shaving the most optimal. The thin front edge of the solid bar razor base plate allows for most accurate shaping of a beard and mustache line.
