I had bought Smart Helix Apollo Light with an aggressive plate just before New Year. It took a while before arriving to United States, Las Vegas, but it was worth the waiting! This razor is so good, so efficient and so smooth at the same time that went beyond my expectations. The built quality is supreme. I have in my collection more than few high end razors, such as Timeless 0.95 SS OC, Blackland Blackbird, Karve SB with D plate, Tatara Muramasa, but this one offered me even better shaves! Hi, I have many razors such as the Razorock Gamechanger 68p closed comb, Lupo in Aluminium, Muhle R89 Grande Twist & now the Apollo light. Summing up without reading to the end, The Apollo is the finest razor in the world!!!
From the first shave on the first pass with the aggressive head, I found the Apollo light to be highly effecient, extremely smooth & without a doubt far superior in a different class to any of the mentioned razors above. The Apollo light is a razor that is so well engineered that it controls the blade for the smoothest shave I’ve ever had. This was with Personna blades. On the second pass I then tried the mild head in the Apollo light, & it’s even smoother while still being extremely effecient. The most impressive thing about the Apollo light is the absolute comfort that you’ll enjoy while shaving. No other razor that I’ve tried even comes close. The Apollo light is well worth the money as it’s a once in a lifetime razor that will save you trying to find the ultimate razor – This is it.
I have seen reviews about Blackland, Christopher Karve & other high end razors on youtube, but nothing out there is as smooth & comfortable as the Apollo light. I’ve attached a few photos which show mine with an extra top cap that I paid Smart Helix for, thus enabling me to fit an existing handle on the second base plate, & effectively have 2 Apollo’s with the same blade to make a comparison with. Besides, the extra top cap with the two base plates gives you the great option of shaving with either Apollo light head depending upon your growth & it was well worth that little extra to have 2 Apollo light’s ready immediately.
I apologise if my photos are super brilliant as I took these as night which seems to have made them a little soft, but it shows the Apollo light with the original handle, & my extra handle with the additional top cap & base plate. Happy shaving!!
I find it hard to write an objective review of this razor that doesn’t sound like a love declaration. It surpassed my high expectations and left me stunned, and I have dozens of premium razors. It is not only a beautiful razor. It also shaved extremely well; I will go into detail about that below.
I was also impressed by its excellent packaging and the beautiful box, conduct and contact with the seller was professional and friendly, which I appreciate. Shipping from the Ukraine took 16 days, my order was shipped the morning after I ordered. I was informed of a possible tracking black hole when the razor left Ukraine, but it reappeared on the radar and arrived faster than anticipated.
The aggressive head is in my opinion rather medium to medium aggressive, while being highly efficient. I usually shave with much more aggressive razors, but few can be as efficient while being so skin friendly and ease and intuitive to use. The razor doesn’t require extreme riding of the cap or bar, it allows for flexible technique and doesn’t punish lazy mistakes. But it still delivers a fantastic result. Gunk gets easily washed out through the larger lather holes. It’s more efficient than well-known and famous razors with .84 and .72 gap while being even smoother at the same time. It isn’t a hyper aggressive razor, but it doesn’t need to. I didn’t expect to get such a great shave quality with so little aggression. The mild plate would probably have been too mild for me.
The head is also very slim and agile, making contouring or in general difficult things like shaving between nostrils and moustache very easy, another plus.
The handle deserves special praise: It’s not only nice to look at, but it has also very good grip and a fantastic ergonomic shape and just the right size, again allowing for many ways to hold it as you like through its shape and knurling.
Bottom line, the Apollo and Smart Helix set the bar for other razors very high.

Ho acquistato lo scorso mese di giugno Apollo serie limitata con piastra flip che offre due gap (0,50/0,85) semplicemente capovolgendola, mi è piaciuto tantissimo, curato nei minimi particolari, confezionato per la spedizione con un’attenzione maniacale e quando l’ho testato in rasatura e’ stato fantastico, molto confortevole il lato mild e molto efficace e performante il lato aggressive. A questo punto anche se praticamente sono identici come gap ho voluto acquistare anche la versione Apollo light con due piastre separate che rispecchiano i gap 0,50 quella con una sola riga incisa sulla base e gap 0,85 quella con due righe incise sulla base. Anche questo, curato in tutto come il precedente, ha richiesto qualche giorno in più dalla data dell’ordine al momento della spedizione ma in circa un mese ho avuto il secondo rasoio. Sono molto contento anche se ho investito una cifra ragguardevole per il mio budget è presto proverò anche Apollo light in rasatura, convinto già da ora che sarà fantastico. Congratulazioni e complimenti vivissimi a tutto il team di Smart Helix e buon lavoro per il futuro, sperando di poter essere ancora vostro cliente per qualche altro bellissimo rasoio.

My razor arrived in perfect condition yesterday after only 1 week in transit…faster shipping than we often encounter for domestic shipping here in the US.
I am super pleased with the appearance and the shave the Apollo Light delivered this morning. It has after one shave literally shot to the top of my approx 50 razors (maybe more, I haven’t counted in awhile). What I’m trying to say is that this is a spectacular razor that I believe will gain much momentum here in the US whenever it gains more visibility. I’ll do my part to spread the word.

Received the Light, a couple of days ago, with both plates. Ordering and paying was easy and with the most pleasant of email conversations in the process.
My preference is for mid aggressive razors with efficiency. I’ve used each plate once. The milder plate is extremely smooth and with minimal blade feel. Razor is efficient, although just marginally below my ideal. The more aggressive plate solves that and provides for a close shave which doesn’t require excessive concentration. There’s just minimal reduction in smoothness compared with the milder plate.
Early days, but couldn’t be happier with my purchase. A beautifully made razor with excellent handle knurling and supplied in a wooden box with equal attention to detail. Quality razor at a very competitive price.
Bought the Apollo Light razor with aggressive baseplate and received it a couple of weeks later, here in Denmark. It’s a solid and intuitive razor, you will easily find the right angle without thinking about it. It’s truly every dollar worth. I really mean what I write, that you will not find a better razor, and in top of that it’s made in Europe and for once not in China. Now I am only hoping that Smart Helix would create a Shaving Brush that would fit this beautiful razor.

I purchased the Apollo light with only the aggressive plate, Smart Helix got it to the post office within a day and it arrived in Australia just 3 weeks later.
The packaging was terrific, and the razor is simply beautifully made. However, the performance even exceeds the stunning appearance, providing remarkably efficient shaves without requiring impeccable technique. I found the Apollo quite intuitive to use, nicely balanced and the grip on the handle is terrific. I can only recommend that you get your hands on one of these elite performance razors as soon as you can. It has exceeded all my expectations, and then some!
I love the way this razor feels in my hand. Before this razor, I have used three variants of the adjustable Gillette Butterfly Safety razor and a few inexpensive razors from Rockwell, WCS, and a Parker Variant. The Smart Helix Apollo Light Razor feels wonderful in my hand. I am truly impressed with the workmanship done to the parts of this razor, The fit and finish are beautiful. Please consider, I am an engineer and mechanic so my gushiness is influenced by my past proclivity. As for the shave, I get the best shaves I’ve had in years with just two passes and a little touch up.

I personally feel like this razor shaves a lot smoother than the Feather AS-D2, even with the more aggressive head. It has the perfect weight and balance, and just feels great in your hand. The price is a little steep, but you are paying for a razor that you can use a lifetime.
I’ve been using my S-H Apollo razor for about 6 months now – and it is the perfect balance of form and function. Everything from the packaging to the razor are both art and a marvel of engineering. Perfect balance and feel. Well designed. Most importantly – great shaves.
I own several high end razors and the Smart Helix light is up there with the best of them. I have to say its a very comfortable and intuitive razor to use. Just ticks all my box’s. Well done

Moving onto the razor, the build quality and finish is the best Ive seen, hadle has great grip even with wet hands and feels very well balanced.
Shave with more aggressive plate close but comfortable with just the right amount of feedback, feels similar to my Muhle Rocca.
I’m very impressed with this razor, it looks great on its stand in my shave den.
I generally don’t leave any reviews, but I think this razor is unique and deserves more recognition.
For me, the “aggressive” side of the Apollo is where it really shines. It not as unforgiving as the Muhle R41 but would give you a baby butt smooth feel exactly like it. Absolutely AMAZING, must try.
The price is not cheap, but it is well worth it if you are a more experienced shaver looking for an aggressive every day DE razor.
For beginners, you can argue that you can use the “mild” side of this razor, but simply put the “mild” side just isn’t worth this price tag, especially when there are so many alternatives in the market.
I bought the Smart-Helix Light in the middle of October 2019, I received the razor in the end of October.
I have shaved with the razors both plates on my face and on my head/dome.
I get a smooth and close shave with both of the plates.
Smart-Helix Light is one of my top-5 favorite razors I own.

I also have several razors ranging from economical to high end. The Apollo is absolutely one of my favorites. The precision focuses my shave and I get easy and smooth results. The feel of the handle, the edginess of the head and the well designed stand are all part of the pleasure of using the Apollo. May not be for everyone but it’s a high quality well designed shaver.
I own over 15 high end razors – all of the usual suspects [Timeless, ATT, Weber, Charcoal Goods, Carbon One, Karve, EJ, Merkur, Muhle, Blackland etc.] This is my favorite razor – efficient, comfortable, great handle, good balalnce, well made. Love it – give this guys a shot.
